There is a variety of dives available, including some wreck dives, undersea walls, drift dives, and day trips to Verde Island, where you can often see schools of jacks among other schools of bigger fish.
Diver Requirements
Advanced Open Water Certification is recommended and Deep Specialty is required to reach some of the deeper sites.
Below the Surface
Puerto Galera is renowned for its variety of sea life, including turtles, jackfish, trevally, and stingrays. You can also see Napolean Wrass and Thresher Sharks if you are lucky.
Special Dive Sites:
Grand Canyon: A coral reef with a 30m canyon and sloped terrain. Considered by most to be the best dive site in the area. Schools of Amberjacks, Stone Bass, and Wanderer Trevally often appear. Can have strong currents
Mamoods Reef: A favorite spot for experienced divers with strong currents. You can spot large sponges, guppies, and stingrays.
Verde Island: The terrain here is mostly cliffs at 20~35M. There are large tuna/sea hen/black and white hair school/Jack school/giant grouper/Napoleon. You will often encounter monsters, and sometimes you will encounter rising or falling currents like washing machines, which will leave you with beautiful memories.
Above the Surface
Puerto Galera is well known for its night life with many restaurants and bars for those that want to go out after a day of diving.
