Cathedral

Taiwan

The Cathedral is a unique dive site suitable for all levels of Divers and is always full of surprises!

The Longmen Nuclear Power Plant was completed in 2014 but was halted due to political, legal, and regulatory delays. Currently used purely as an artificial reef, it draws scuba Divers and freedivers alike who want to explore the roughly 15m wide, 8m tall outlet chamber at the end of the pipeline. Taiwanese call this the most expensive dive site in the world.

Below the Surface

On the inside, there are whip corals hanging off the walls, soft corals sticking to the bottom, lobsters hiding in the walls, and a school of ax fish looming in the entrances. On the exterior, you'll be guaranteed to see nudibranchs, porcupine pufferfish, and hermit crabs. Plus, wonderful surprises such as batfish, octopi, and cuttlefish.

The views of the coastline and ocean from the boat are lovely.
