Canyons

An interesting site with beatiful slopes, walls, and boulders to explore. 

Canyons is a lovely site with two sides to explore. On the one side, a shear wall and boulder field, with lots of soft coral and schools of fish. On the other side, a gentle slope covered in ribbon coral and whip coral.

Site Details

Cuttlefish, Octopus, and Juvenile Amberjacks are all commonly seen, as well as a large variety of Nudibranchs.

Depth Range

15-28m

Currents

Near the wall and slope is fairly sheltered but further out from shore, currents can pick up during tide change.

Average Visibility

8-12m

Unique Features

To get the the wall side, you need to swim through a narrow canyon, riding back and forth with the surge. Always a fun experience!

Hazards

The hike down to the water can be a bit difficult, with a steep section, so divers need to have the strength to make the walk.

How To get there

Driving is pretty much the only way to get there. There are about 6-8 spots available at the site but cars can also be parked along the road a bit further down from the site.
